I love this
Thank you!
I heard this guitar in concert, and I must say that it is most impressive. In the hands of Hiroya, a cigar box guitar would sound good, but this guitar has real MOJO. It is well focused and has a very well balanced sound with intensity and sweetness all at once. I think Mr. Yen Lai is on to something special!
Thank you so much for your comment. It was great to play this instrument last week. I look forward to seeing how this guitar will change over time.
It sounds awesome!!
Thank you!
It is a pleasure to finally hear this beauty, this a unique instrument! Thanks for sharing this particular guitar journey Hiro. It reminds me a Samurai getting his swords-the maker matches them to the Soul, they're not just for anyone. This guitar was built for YOU!
Thank you for writing and I like how you write. Yes, it is a very personal instrument.
Beautiful duet of one of the most beautiful tunes, thank you!
Wow, this is a magical tune, fantastic! Kind of reminds me of some of Pat Metheny's music, but with a wonderful Japanese musical sense, really amazing! Love it!
I appreciate your comment. Yes, Pat Metheny is a huge influence for me.
Wonderful, Hiroya, and the Baritone sound so good!
thanks for doing this, not much online to compare these, and you're very clear and helpful. Which do you prefer? I'm looking for something to install, hopefully that wont effect the natural unplugged sound and won't be too permanent. I play mostly fingerstyle.
I am glad that it was helpful. Both are good pickup, but I use more Fishman Rare Earth Blend. And if you don't want to do permanently, I would recommend Fishman as it is easy to install and take it out.
@@HiroyaTsukamotoMusic Interested to hear why you prefer to use the fishman more despite the fact that you found the k&k a bit more natural and sensitive to subtle fretboard to sounds? Do you use the fishman with a preamp? I think I want to convince myself to get the fishman because its nearly half the price for me here in Canada!!
@@user-kx2uz6vo9g Yes, I use Fishman Rare Earth with K&K Pure Mini preamp. I use Rare Earth as I do a lot of looping and magnetic pickup has clear sound when I create multiple layers.
@@user-kx2uz6vo9g Yes, I use a preamp called K&K Pure Preamp which is a very simple preamp, but it does a great job for the sound.
Beautiful guitar!!
Thank you! Yes it sounds beautiful too.
It's a beautiful guitar! Can't wait to hear how it sounds
Thank you. I will bring it to Colorado this summer.
Could you share to us why/how to hold guitar like this( look like classical form ) ? Thanks a lot 🙏
I am using a guitar support to hold the guitar with this angle. This is called Sageworks Guitar Support. sagework.org/
@@HiroyaTsukamotoMusic thanks a lot
Which model ? Will you use this support for your dreadnought guitar? Thanks
@@chanpeter3608 This is model called Atlas. I don't use this for dreadnought as the body is too big itself.
Thanks for your useful information. 🙏😊
Great info, nice playing. Thanks😊
This pickup sounds great, best of both worlds-tone and feedback resistance. Just ordered one for a new Maple wood Baden I recently acquired. Thanks for the review Hiroya!
Good to hear that Joseph. And congratulation for your new Baden!
The playing here is so beautiful.
Thank you very much.
I prefer the tone of the OM for finger picking.
Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you for this information
You are welcome. Thank you for watching.
Wonderful sound and review! Thank you very much!
Thank you for watching.
That's beautiful!! I've been learning to play Bonfire, and I'm gonna post just a little piece of it to honoring you! Hope u like it!
Thank you for playing my song!
this LR baggs is active of passive????
This one is passive called i-beam.
Wonderful Hiroya 👍
Thank you.
🥲🥲 Thank you Hiroya
Thank you Joseph!
Wonderful! Hiroya is a great player and his concerts are a study in beauty and serenity.
I appreciate your words.
Beautiful piece of music beautifully played 👏👏👏👍
Thank you so much.
What guitar are you playing?
This guitar is Huss & Dalton FS model.
Great review. Thanks.
Thank you so much!
I actually lowered the action and lightened the strings on my dreadnaught (like you mentioned) and it did play MUCH better for my style of playing (I am a fingerstylist). But I play mostly sitting down so even though I am a big guy (6'4") it would mess up my shoulder when playing for any length of time. So I found myself playing less and less. I switched to OM and it was like magic happening. My Taylor just melts into my body and becomes a part of me, as opposed to me fighting with it. And the major dimensions are identical.. the SHAPE is different with a smaller waist which makes how it sits when playing lower, and is HUGE concerning comfort. The neck profile also helps in playability but that carries across no matter what body shape you get... but folks should always take that into account as well. This all said, if you don't need the volume, I always recommend the OM. I thought I wanted and NEEDED the dreadnaught, but I was.... wrong. Wonderful playing my friend. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. Yes, OM is very comfortable guitar and now I am thinking to go even smaller than OM as I get older.
I'm 69 years old, got a helluva lot of acoustic guitars to think back over........what I would say to you, is.......the most beautiful guitar I ever heard was an "OM", as you call it, Hiroya - (there is a question of our words, 60 years ago, for the same guitars today).......the make was a Guild, played by Bert Jansch, it had an incredibly beautiful individual tone.......all I remember musicians referring to was "the female body shape" (the OM) + "the chord box" (your Dreadnought)......we did know these are called Dreadnoughts, but they were called "chord boxes" disdainfully, real musicians, musicians' musicians......showed off they didn't like "chord boxes", "for nothing but strumming"........Guild had a bigger image in the 1960s & 1970s, they suffered financially, possibly with the advent of Ovation guitars (look at the clip of film on RUclips of Glen Campbell talking on British TV, to talk show host Michael Parkinson, about his Ovation, I think that might have been very damaging to other guitar companies, with only Gibson & Fender surviving - another good make of acoustic guitar was Fylde, you would find them very interesting).......anyway, I enjoy these RUclips series, Hiroya, I'll watch out for more. 6:38
Thank you for watching my video and I appreciate your feedback and observation. And thank you for sharing your own experience and interesting story as well.

you summed it up very well. My exact experience except the coated sound more midrangy to me.

Can you beat on the guitar?
Thanks for the video. Very good sound. What pickup does your guitar have? K&K Pure Classic for your nylon string? I'm thinking about installing this pickup. How does it handle the feedback? I have read that it is easily fed back.
Thank you for watching. This guitar has LR Baggs i-Beam passive pickup. If I turn the volume up, you will hear feedback, but if it is a solo guitar gig or lower volume setting, it is fine.
Thank you! @@HiroyaTsukamotoMusic
what pickup do you use?
I use Fishman Rare Earth blend which is a combination of magnet and internal microphone.
Not sure why my comment to you was removed or hidden but i hope you see it. either way Much love to you friend!
